HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Houston-based Leslie Doggett Industries through its Doggett Truck Group has acquired privately-held Truck Centers of Arkansas, giving Doggett distribution rights for all Freightliner and Western Star branded trucks and parts for most counties in the State of Arkansas with full service sales and leasing dealerships in Little Rock, Fayetteville and Van Buren. Doggett will operate these dealerships under the name Doggett Freightliner of Arkansas. Sources familiar with the transaction report the purchase price to be $103+ million. Doggett’s General Counsel, William Doggett, said, “the Doggett Truck Group, headed by Paul Burk, will bring a new intensity to the Arkansas dealerships. We have a long history of buying companies and dramatically improving morale, processes, and market share growth, all through a laser focus on customer service. Leslie Doggett Buys Lone Star Ford
HOUSTON, May 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Houston-based Leslie Doggett Industries' affiliate the Doggett Auto Group has purchased one of Houston's oldest and largest Ford dealerships, Lone Star Ford (8477 North Freeway, between the North Loop 610 and Beltway 8 on I-45 North) from North Carolina-based Sonic Automotive Inc. (NYSE: SAH) for an undisclosed amount effective May 1, 2018. On July 31, 2018, Doggett will move the store to 9115 North Freeway, to the lot adjacent to Doggett's John Deere Construction and Forestry headquarters. Tony Gracely, one of the best known and well-respected figures in the automobile dealership industry, is heading up the Doggett Auto Group. Doggett, one of the nation's largest heavy equipment dealers, is getting into the automotive business.
The Houston-based commercial, industrial and construction equipment dealer, acquired Lone Star Ford from North Carolina-based Sonic Automotive for an undisclosed amount on May 1.
Doggett Auto Group, an affiliate of Leslie Doggett Industries, plans to rename the dealership to Doggett Ford and move it to 9115 North Freeway, which is adjacent to Doggett's John Deere Construction and Forestry location.
